The Couple behind Traveling Found Love

Meet Rachel

I am from New York and currently teach Physical Education in a middle school. Actually, I work in the same middle school that I went to as a teenager!

Traveling has always been something I have wanted to do more of, but my career was my focus until I met Dana. I never thought I was able to find the time or afford to travel the USA like I do it today.

Now I know, I was just not making it a priority in my life. Being American you tend to have a “live to work” instead of “work to live” lifestyle. Sadly, I fell into this category.

Being out on the road exploring the United States, taught me just how rewarding traveling can be. And now I am hooked. There is nothing better than creating and fulfilling new travel dreams!

Meet Dana

I grew up in a small city in the middle of Germany. My parents were convinced that our own country has a lot to offer, that is why I mainly stayed in Germany for the first 18 years of my life.

But soon after I left Europe for the first time, I realized that there is so much more to see in the world and nothing could hold me back anymore.

Besides pursuing my clinical social work degrees, I fit long term travel in my life as much as possible. I spent 4 months traveling around Southeast Asia exploring, scuba diving, doing volunteer work in an animal shelter, and working as a German and English teacher.

I also took my chance to study abroad in Lisbon, Portugal, for 6 months. After Rachel and I got married, I moved to New York.

I am lucky to say that I already accomplished some of my travel goals, but there is one small thing I have been saving and wishing for a long time… My dream to complete a world trip!

Picking the name, Traveling Found Love, just seemed right because it ultimately defines our entire story. Traveling is how we found our love for each other and the world.

Where is Our Favorite Place in the USA?

One of our favorite areas to travel to in the USA is the southwest. There is just so much adventure out there and incredible serene landscapes that make us want to come back again and again.  Some of our trip highlights include backpacking to Havasu Falls in Arizona, finding our appreciation for slot canyon hikes, and tackling some hidden caves in Sedona.
